Im not in the nevada desert. I didnt even get that lost. I just got on a couple of wrong trains, but I managed to get to were I wanted. I ended up catching the ride to boro park, catching the bus to williamsburg, catching the train to manhattan (dude! the willy metro card machines are in yiddish!) catching the train to flatbush, and missing my ride to jersey. And then missing another ride to jersey. The last ride I had wasnt gonna leave anytime before 2 am, so I had tons of time to kill. So I met up with some friends, and we spent some time hanging around flatbush. We're in shoprite and my friend points to a couple and says hey, you know yanki yanki rifki rifki" (for all those unfamiliar, on the wedding cd that made its way around, lipa sings yanki yanki rifki rifki, in a kevin lyttle song tune) "thats then over there" So I run to a shop rite cashier, borrow her pen, run over top the nearest cardboard box, rip off a corner, and corner them in the mouthewash aisle. Me : (slightly breathless) "excuse me are you yanki and rifki that lipa sings about?" Them: "uh- I think so." Me: "Awesome! Can I get you autograph?" After getting my autograph they give me theirs, and I run off all excited. Coincidentally, about 10 minutes later I bump into lipa himself in deli 52. Of course I make sure to get a pic with him. Even though the meeting was a total waste of time (and I mean total. Anything they said was mostly for the new counselors, and they could have sent it in a letter without making us all come to a meeting. Besides the head couselor and director werent even expecting me, since this was my 3rd year and I had nver shown up to any meeting in the past)at least I made up for it with an awesome autograph.

At first it sounded boring you weren't getting lost enough. Then you made up for it. Am I in the twilight zone who the heck are these stars that you got an autograph from? Fun day you had.
dont worry if u didnt hear it. Its one of the first weddings lipa did and everybody managed to get a copy of the cd. they were the couple he sings about. (if u ever heard lipa free stlye, ull know what Im talkin about)
Oh no I didn't hear his freestyle. Okay thanks for the explanation.
he does it by most concerts or weddings.
never heard it. don't really know much lipa. I also could care less about stars of any sort. was with my cousin in westwood and he points out a starbucks that all the stars go to and hs's telling me about who he saw there and who he thinks he sees. don't remember if I pretended I knew what he was talking and acted like I cared or not.
I dont think anybodys getting the point.
No we are not getting the point. So what is the friggin point? I thought it was how cool you felt that you got the friggin autograph.:)
that although you wasted your time taking a quadrillion busses trains and rides to get to a meeting that you weren't even expected at and could have stayed home on the computer so many more hours, something came of it cause you met lipa and got some wacko autographs. so it wasn't a total waste. thats what i picked up, but didn't have anything to say about it, so I commented on the tangent that my brain went off on
take a chill. basically, imagine how these people mustv felt, random strangers asking for their autographs in stores, and their only claim to fame is that lipa mentions their names in a song by a wedding.
the only funny thing ive seen by lipa is the geico ad thingy. and thereafter i draw the line.
(i have a famous person's autograph too..winkwink )
thats the funny thing about all autographs. I mean cal ripkin can show up to a bunch of games in a row and hit a baseball. and britney spears has a talent for singing while wearing very little clothes. and yet people go over to them and ask for autographs all the time, when really as human beings or anything else they are no better or more special than rifki and yanki. in fact if britney or cal were born chasidish they probably would be similar to rifki and yanki now.
Trix - you're funny. And it's so true - who the heck cares about these people? And what's up with Jews idolizing some chassidish guy who sings a shtickel? D-head, I don't think you're like that, and it's pretty funny that you got that couple's autographs - you're probabaly the first, and last, person to ever ask them for it. Now they're probably showing off to all of their friends how famous they are. Hey, maybe someone will ask me for my autograph one day.
flor-keep it its gonna be worth tons someday. trix- exactly shalv- if im the only, u think i could sell it?
not to worry, it's framed sitting in a bank vault in fort knox at the moment..
