From a Bathroom

posted Tuesday, 20 June 2006

Im updating from a bathroom. How cool is that? Steada reading boring fishing magazines I can update my blog.
Hmm, theres nothing really exciting happening here. Maybe I should stick with the fishing magazines. I wonder how they estimate toilets height. How do builders know if Im a tall person and I would have to double my feet over, or if Im a short person and my feet dangle over the edge? Nobody ever complains that their toilet doesnt fit. This bathroom has a average sized toilet.Room is small tho,& has gr8 echo.

I am so glad you shared this with us. Even happier you didn't share any more details. I am short and never had a problem with the height of the toilet. My daughter still almost falls in without a potty seat. If you want real fun I can share all of her bathrooming with you.

u can share. (although I suspect its a standard 3 stage procedure, 1st its 'i have to go' followed by 'kersplash' followed by 'glub glub, this is water is yummy, mommy'

What the heck is with all of the bathroom posts? I feel like every single blog has written something about toilets in the last week. But yes, thank you for sharing. And my bathroom also has great acoustics - it's awesome to sing annoying songs in there and drive my whole family mad.

shalv- this week happens to be, celebrate the invention of indoor plumbing week.Every patriotic american should be celebrating. What did u do for IPW? trix- but how did the builder of my house know that I wasnt 6'11? And why is toilet paper round?

they build it for the average sized person, and tall people learn to stretch their legs. since you grew up ont the toilet its something you are used to. probably tall people sit differently, and short people are used to dangeling. like when I was little I didn't think the toilet was too big for me. the inventor of round toilet paper was very smart that way you can keep it on that rolly thing that people don't use and its just very convenient. but do you know why manhole covers are round?

Well it is more exciting than than that. I won't give you the details for the sake of your readers.

tp can be square and still work. manhole covers r round a) because the holes are round b) you can put it on any way u want c) if theyd be square theyd look really funny, and construction workers have feelings 2, u kno.

sw- oh no! it was followed by a 4th stage? 'hey mommy, whys there yummy hersheys in the toilet?' (oh dear) reminds me of the time (many yrs ago) and I was baby sitting my little bro and he came into the room and said "I tink" which meant he had a dirty diaper, so w/o looking up from my computer game, I told him 2 change it himself. He left. About a half hr later, I hear a shriek from the kitchen. My mom came home and found he'd done some nice replastering on the kitchen walls, and the floor and fridge.on chairs. everywhere. kids r so awesome.

see you've been reading your nosepickers from outerspace (maybe). the real reason has to do with swelling and shrinking from heat i think. round tp is just more convenient. did you get in trouble for it?

doodlehead said...

yeah I read it, but i knew those answers b4. why more convenient then triangle tp? Trouble? nah. my mom knew who she was dealing with when she appointed me babysitter.

My comp froze in the middle of my long brilliant post. Lets see if I can remember.... Well I started by saying ewwwwww nooooooooo! My daughter never mentioned hersheys and she has no 4th step. Diff. excitement entirely. Like all the accidents and the doodies that come flying out and get mushed on the floor and the lovely methodology I use to clean it up. Her diarrea is lovely too. She even has a song about it. Well I will save the rest for another time.

Oh please, do tell, SW! I'd love to hear a diarrhea song! And one day, when I'm mayor of Chicago, I will order that all holes in the ground be different shapes. Hearts, diamonds, triangles, everything! Awesome idea! Oh, and d-head? As soon as I have kids, you're definitely babysitting. Hey, babysitter and house painter, all in one neat package!

Shalva I couldn't remember it if I tried.

imho, toilets are like stairs-- there's a basic architectural formula used (ever go up uneven stairs and trip..even though there was nothing to trip on?)

manhole covers are round so they'd never fall in (u can angle a square cover sideways/diagonal and it'll fall)

and no wonder kids are scared to graduate from the potty..there's nothing big and cold and white to fall into there..
